Founded in 2016 under the direction of choreographer Mariam Aleksidze and established by Tbilisi City Hall, the Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet is Georgia's first modern ballet company.
Named after the great Georgian choreographer Giorgi Aleksidze, this innovative ballet company is distinguished by its unique quality, aesthetic, exploration of contemporary forms, artistic vision, and original repertoire.
The distinctiveness of the Giorgi Aleksidze Tbilisi Contemporary Ballet is driven by the exceptional ideas of the company's director, TSU professor David Maziashvili, his extensive knowledge across various fields, and Mariam Aleksidze's artistic vision to maintain the unique style characteristic of Georgian choreography while presenting it in a new, contemporary light.
