Iakob Gogebashvili House-Museum

The Ilia Gogebashvili House-Museum is a unique cultural space dedicated to introducing visitors to the life, legacy, and educational mission of one of Georgia’s most influential writers, scholars, and public figures.

The museum complex consists of three sections, each reflecting different aspects of Gogebashvili’s personal and professional life:

• The first hall presents Gogebashvili’s biography along with various historical artifacts related to his life and work.
• On the second floor, visitors can explore Ilia’s study and bedroom, as well as the classroom he established, offering a glimpse into the educational environment of the era.
• The third section includes a traditional stone-built living room, a kitchen, and a wine cellar, preserving the authentic atmosphere of the time.

The museum offers guests a deeper understanding of Gogebashvili’s contributions to Georgian education and culture, allowing them to experience the environment where the foundations of modern Georgian pedagogy were formed.
