The development of Subway in Georgia began in 2023, when Wissol Group signed a master franchise agreement. Within this strategic partnership, up to 80 Subway restaurants are planned to open across the country, ensuring the brand’s full-scale growth and expansion in the local market.

The history of Subway dates back to 1965, when 17-year-old Fred DeLuca borrowed $1,000 from a friend and opened his first restaurant in Bridgeport, Connecticut, under the name Pete’s Super Submarines. Fresh ingredients and delicious sandwiches quickly gained popularity.
In 1968, the restaurant was renamed Subway — the name it proudly carries today.
