Batumi Public Library
Akaki Tsereteli Batumi Public Library is a cultural, educational, and scientific hub with a rich 125-year history. It is an active public gathering space where presentations, conferences, and meetings are regularly held, while children’s and various age-specific readers’ clubs are also available.
The library’s extensive collection includes 585,788 items. To attract tourists and readers, the library also features a Book Museum, showcasing rare books published in various languages, including French, English, Italian, and others.
Our mission is to ensure equal and free access to information and library resources for all members of society, promote literacy, and preserve and promote the region’s cultural and historical heritage.
Our main goal is to develop the library as a modern educational and intellectual center, introduce digital services, continuously update its collections, and create an open, inclusive, and inspiring environment for readers of all ages.
