Ozurgeti State Drama Theatre

The Ozurgeti Professional State Drama Theatre named after Alexander Tsutsunava is one of the oldest centers of Georgian culture. It is the first and, to this day, the only professional theatre in the Guria region. Throughout its long history, the theatre has played a significant role in the development of cultural life in the region and in the promotion of theatrical art.

The theatre actively collaborates with cultural institutions from various countries and participates in international theatre festivals, from which it has returned with numerous awards. Every two years, the theatre hosts the Nodar Dumbadze International Theatre Festival, named after the Georgian writer, which brings together theatre ensembles from different countries and is considered an important cultural event in the region.

The theatre offers audiences a diverse repertoire, with performances of various genres intended for different generations, contributing to the development of theatrical art and the cultural education of young people.
